The Athletic reported Oct. 22, citing team sources, that in late September Madison Square Garden employees got an email offering a "complimentary employee championship ring" in two designs, Championship Gold or Garden Classic. It was a phishing test: staff who clicked the link were sent to mandatory cybersecurity training, which sources tied to owner James Dolan's cybersecurity concerns.

Bitcoin hardware-wallet maker Foundation said late Oct. 25 that spam emails appearing to come from its official domains were traced to one or more compromised Cloudflare API keys, which it has revoked, and that the malicious domain in the emails was taken down. The company said Passport hardware and funds were not compromised, while recipients told The Defiant the messages included personal and purchase details.
